Managed IT for Manufacturers · Nationwide

When the network goes down, the line stops—and every minute is scrap and missed ship dates.

Micro Ops delivers managed IT built for manufacturers—shop floor to front office. We keep production running, wall off OT from IT, and get you certified for the customers who now demand it.

The risk lives on your floor, not just in the office

Office IT treats your plant like a bigger office. It isn't.

Manufacturers run aging controllers, hard production deadlines, and customers who now audit your security. Here's what we're hired to keep from stopping the line.

01

Ransomware

Manufacturing is the #1 most-attacked industry. One encrypted server or controller can freeze the line, halt shipping, and turn a quiet Tuesday into a week of lost production.

02

Machines stuck on Windows 7/XP

CNCs, PLCs, and inspection rigs locked to an OS the builder never re-certified can't simply be patched. Unpatched and unprotected, they're the easiest door into your plant.

03

IT that won't touch the floor

A generalist MSP supports email and laptops, then backs away from SCADA, the press room, and anything with a PLC. The systems that actually make product get orphaned.

04

CMMC deadlines from customers

Your defense primes are sending 800-171 and CMMC flow-downs with the next PO. Miss the deadline and you don't lose a project—you lose the contract.

We already know your stack

The systems that run your plant, supported end to end.

ERP and MES on the business side, controllers and scanners on the floor, and the EDI and label printing your customers require. We support what your plant actually runs on.

CMMC 2.0 & NIST SP 800-171, in plain English

If you supply the DoD, security just became part of your contract.

Whether you sell to the Department of Defense directly or through a prime, certification is now a condition of the work—not a nice-to-have. We translate the requirements into controls you can pass an audit with.

CMMC 2.0 · DoD Contracts

Certification is now contractual

CMMC 2.0 is the DoD's requirement that contractors handling controlled unclassified information prove their security. No certification at the required level, no award. We get you to the level your contracts actually call for.

NIST SP 800-171 · 110 Controls

The 110 controls underneath it

CMMC is built on the 110 security controls in NIST SP 800-171. We map each one to what your shop already does, what's missing, and the shortest path to closing the gap—without buying tools you don't need.

Readiness Assessment · Gap Analysis

Know your score before the assessor does

We run a readiness assessment and SPRS-style scoring so you walk into a formal assessment knowing exactly where you stand—not hoping. No surprises, no failed audit on the customer's clock.

SSP & POA&M · Documentation

The paperwork primes ask for

We help build and maintain your System Security Plan and Plan of Action & Milestones—the living documents an assessor and your prime will ask to see, written so they hold up under scrutiny.

Cyber Insurance · Attestation

Questionnaire & renewal support

We complete the technical sections of cyber-insurance applications and close the controls carriers require—MFA, EDR, tested backups, segmentation—so coverage isn't denied or surcharged at renewal.

Customer Audits · Security Reviews

Pass the audits your customers run

Large OEMs and primes increasingly audit their suppliers' security directly. We prepare your evidence and sit in on the review, so a security questionnaire never costs you a customer.

We're 20 minutes from Lockheed Martin's Marietta plant and serve Georgia's defense-supplier corridor. We know the flow-down language coming out of the primes here—because we work with the shops that receive it.

Managed IT, fully covered

What's included in a Micro Ops engagement.

One fixed monthly number that covers the office and the floor. Scales from a single-shift shop to multiple plants—security and OT protection aren't bolted on later.

Helpdesk & same-day support

Mon–Sat, 8a–7p with under-15-minute triage and 24/7 after-hours dispatch—because a second shift down at 11pm is still lost production.

Endpoint protection, office & floor

Managed detection and response on laptops, servers, and the workstations that drive your machines—with isolation before ransomware spreads to the line.

OT / IT network segmentation

Production and business networks split into controlled zones, so a phishing click in accounting can never reach a PLC on the line. The highest-impact control for a plant.

Backup & DR with tested restores

Encrypted, versioned backups of servers, ERP, and Microsoft 365—with restores tested on a schedule, because a backup you've never restored is a guess.

Legacy-machine isolation

Windows 7/XP controllers that can't be patched get fenced off, monitored, and locked down—kept productive without becoming the plant's weakest link.

Vendor management

We own the calls to your ERP vendor, machine builders, ISP, and EDI partners—so your controller stops being the plant's unofficial IT department.

Microsoft 365 hardening

Conditional access, MFA, secure defaults, and mailbox auditing tuned to stop the wire-fraud and account takeover that target finance teams.

Questions plant managers and controllers ask

Frequently asked questions.

Do you support Epicor and SYSPRO?
Yes. We support Epicor and SYSPRO day to day—user provisioning, integrations, performance, and the server and database side that keeps them running—along with NetSuite, Global Shop Solutions, JobBOSS, MES/SCADA interfaces, EDI, and the barcode, label-printing, and time-clock systems your ERP depends on. We support the tools your plant actually runs on, not just office software.
What is CMMC and does our shop need it?
CMMC 2.0 (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) is the Department of Defense's requirement that contractors handling controlled unclassified information meet the NIST SP 800-171 security controls. If you supply the DoD directly or as a subcontractor to a prime, certification is now a contractual condition of doing business. If your customers send you DFARS or 800-171 flow-down language, you almost certainly need it—and we run readiness assessments to tell you exactly where you stand.
Can you secure machines running Windows 7 on the floor?
Yes. CNC controllers, PLCs, and inspection equipment are often locked to Windows 7 or XP because the machine builder never certified a newer OS, and you can't just patch them. Instead of forcing a risky upgrade, we isolate those machines on a segmented OT network, restrict what can talk to them, and put monitoring in front of them—so an unpatchable controller can't become the door ransomware walks through.
What does managed IT cost for a 30-person shop?
A 30-person shop typically lands between roughly $2,500 and $4,500 per month depending on how many seats are office versus floor, your security and compliance requirements, and whether CMMC is in scope. We scope it to actual users and the machines that need protection, give you one fixed monthly number after a short plant walkthrough, and don't bury project fees in it.
Will you actually come on-site?
Yes. We're based in Smyrna, GA and go on-site for plant walkthroughs, network and OT segmentation work, machine-floor cabling, and anything that can't be fixed from a screen. Day-to-day support is remote and fast, but when a switch dies in the press room or a line is down, someone who has stood on your floor is the one solving it.
How do you separate the office network from the shop floor?
We segment your network so the front office (email, ERP front end, file shares) and the production floor (PLCs, CNC, SCADA, scanners) live in separate, controlled zones with tightly defined rules for what can cross between them. That way a phishing click in accounting can't reach a controller on the line, and a compromised legacy machine can't pivot into your business systems. It's the single highest-impact control for a manufacturer.
How fast do you respond when a line goes down?
Triage typically begins in under 15 minutes during business hours (Mon–Sat, 8a–7p), and a stopped line is treated as a production emergency—it jumps the queue and escalates immediately, with on-site dispatch when it's hardware or network. After hours, dispatch is available 24/7, because a second shift down at 11pm is still scrap and missed ship dates.
